Their blog, iphone.fiveforty.net, documented milestones like breaking into the device's system, bypassing activation, and gaining write access. Notably, they decrypted firmware, hacked activation using PhoneActivationServer, and achieved write access through iPHUC. The team's efforts culminated in "INdependence," automating activation and write access. By July 19, 2007, they developed a toolchain, allowing the execution of custom programs. This marked a significant stride in liberating the iPhone for users worldwide.
